Cold- blooded, crawling animal, the Reptile's ( Sarissrip) life and struggle is symbolic here. The characters of the play, Bidhayak Bhattacharya's "Sarissrip", are all crawling to survive, either the dejected old theatre artists or a poor thief or beggar--all, who are inside the dilapidated house, once renowned, 'Monomohini Theatre', are waiting to crawl into entering a new unknown journey in life.
Monomohini is to be demolished to expand a road, but those people, who are spending the last night at the house, are setting out to an unknown road and life. Their roads to life are evanescent.
Sarada sundari or Nikunja , who once ruled the stage and audience mind, are now vanishing gradually both from the stage and human mind.
The theatre of human life's reality is enacted in this theatre.
